Hi! Today we’ll be making a DIY Face mask with Filter pocket and nose wire. Usually, when people with glasses wear face masks, their glasses either slips or makes the wearer uncomfortable. Today’s tutorial we’ll make a face mask that is glasses wearer friendly.
What you’ll need:
- Needle and thread
- Scissors
- Clip
- Safety Pin
- 36x25cm Fabric
- 14x18cm Fabric
- Elastics
Step-by-step procedure:
STEP 1
Prepare your fabric.
Fold it in half and sew the bottom using a backstitch.
STEP 2
Prepare a triangular pattern.
Measure 6cm at the top and 5.5 cm at the right side.
Place it on the corner of all four sides and mark it.
Sew the corners with a backstitch.
Cut the corners, leave 1cm (or less) allowance from the stitch.
STEP 3
Flip the fabric to the right side, then iron.
Fold the top and bottom, iron every fold.
Sew the top and bottom using a backstitch.
Unfold then turn to the back and iron.
STEP 4
Prepare the second fabric.
Make two small folds on the bottom of the unhemmed part.
Sew using backstitch.
Turn it and place it vertically on the first fabric.
Make a small fold at the top.
Sew the top edge, leave no space.
Hold it in place using a clip and use the invisible stitch.
Fold the bottom.
Place the nose wire on the fold and measure it.
This will hold the nose wire later on.
Sew with a backstitch.
Then insert the nose wire.
Step 5
Fold the top and bottom again and turn to the side.
Make two small folds.
This will hold the elastics later on.
Hold it in place using a clip, then sew with a backstitch.
Repeat this step on the other side.
STEP 6
Unfold the top right corner a little and stitch it just below the small fold.
Repeat this step on all sides then unfold.
STEP 7
Prepare the elastics.
Put a small safety pin on one end of the elastic and insert it in the fold at the side.
Repeat this step for the other side.
And you’re done!
